Marie Zachovalová´s and Jindřich Štreit´s Two Times Twenty Black Hearts

Twenty colour photographs of the tragically deceased 27-year-old photographer Marie Zachovalová taken in the Roma settlement Járeček in Eastern Slovakia and in a Roma village in Hungary. The Czech photography legend Jindřich Štreit´s twenty black-and-white photographs from the suburbs of Olomouc and industrial environment in Poland. The photographs supplement Monika and Břetislav Rychlík´s film Black Hearts.

The Congo: Men Make War, Women Suffer

The Congo faces one of the largest humanitarian disasters in the world. The armed conflict has claimed lives of millions, thousands of women have been raped. People in Need have decided to aid these women. The journalist and a member of FEMISPHERA Lenka Klicperová´s portraits and Markéta Kutilová´s photographs will bring closer the fate of sexual violence victims in eastern Congo where People in Need operate.
Exhibition ONE WORLD FOR CHILDREN – art contest (2005-2008)

Since 2005, the educational program One World in Schools in cooperation with Czech TV has been holding an art contest for primary school pupils. Docs for Kids is a short documentary films section designed for the younger of them every year. The contestants´ task is to draw a picture to one of the film of the section. You may look at the best from the previous contest editions at the exhibition at the Minor Theatre.

Barbora Kuklíková: Mothers/Daughters

The relationship of parents and children at the instant when their age starts to unite rather than divide them enriches the photographer Barbora Kuklíková´s range of topics with the intergenerational relationships of mothers and their adult daughters. Portraits of mothers and daughters in real settings testify unvoiced fears, mutual shyness, or again the gradually strengthening confidence and unity, formed in the frame of close relationship.
