An Icelandic teenager captures the attention of WikiLeaks’ key players when, at the age of 14, he hacks into the private communications of Icelandic banking. The young hacker is drawn into a risky business with secret information.
As a whistleblower, Siggi Thordarson has always shown admirable tenacity, regardless of which side benefits from his talents. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange developed an almost paternal relationship with him, and Siggi became one of his closest collaborators. But when the FBI begins an investigation into WikiLeaks’ activities, Siggi decides to cooperate with them, becoming an important informant about the company’s internal practices. His credibility is undermined when several allegations of sexual assault against underage boys and financial fraud are made against him. The documentary follows Siggi over several years and provides a testimony of his dark adolescence outside the boundaries of the law.
