Fans of the dangerous pastime still spend years glueing together their spectacular creations. In secret, they make balloons tens of metres high, often needing hundreds of people to launch them. All their free time and money goes towards their hobby.

Queer policewoman Pooja lives in strongly patriarchal Kathmandu and must hide her sexuality. Sent to southern Nepal where tensions exist between the Nepalese majority and the Madheshi minority, she has to solve the touchy case of a politician’s kidnapped son. As an elite police officer, she uses skills acquired in the West. Her empathy and logic are enhanced by her own experience of oppression.

Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain, a popular tourist site in Georgia, USA, is a large park that includes a granite rock formation. In the early 20th century, the faces of three Confederate leaders – President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Colonel Stonewall – were carved into it based on a project initiated by people connected to the Ku Klux Klan.

The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos

Made by a 7-member directing team, the film was inspired by the experiences of a fishing community in Lagos, Nigeria. Between November 2016 and April 2017, the government and police forcibly evicted over 30,000 people from the area. Those who resisted were intimidated, beaten or imprisoned.
