Roger Stone has been Donald Trump’s political advisor for the past 30 years and plays the lowest game possible for his benefit, not afraid to lie, provoke, or partner up with the extremists who stormed the Capitol in 2021.
Danish director Christoffer Guldbrandsen wanted to explore what keeps Donald Trump in power, eventually getting to his long-standing advisor – the controversial Roger Stone. He began filming this provocateur with a huge cigar in the middle of Trump’s term of office. He was there when Stone pulled the strings behind the scenes and even meddled directly in the 2020 election results. On a few occasions it looked as if the director wouldn’t be able to finish his film, but in the end he was able to tell the full story of how rhetorical statements turned into physical violence and why the end of Trump’s presidency was marked by a storm in Congress.
