South Africa’s Karoo region is a key location connected to the roots of human civilisation. This unspoiled landscape is the future site of a telescope that will reveal the even older history of the universe.
Some experts label the genocide in Rwanda as the worst in modern history. Over the course of a mere 4 months about 70% of all Rwandan Tutsis were killed, including children. Siblings Olivier, Fidéline and Fiacre were all under the age of 10 when their neighbours murdered them and tried to erase all proof that they ever existed. This film shot in their native village is a tribute to their memory. It captures the confrontation between their murderers and the survivors and their families who still live here. The result is not only a shattering testimony of ruthlessness, but also a reflection on guilt and punishment, which raises a burning question: is it possible to ask for forgiveness for such terrible acts – and to grant it?
