Flavours of Iraq
On the day of his father’s funeral, Iraqi-French journalist Feurat Alani embarks on an adventurous journey into his own memories, creating a vivid picture of Iraq, his parents’ native country.
They publicly criticise healthcare cuts, the destruction of national parks, and the ubiquitous political corruption. They portray Orbán as a man who is deliberately undermining democracy and prefers to invest in friends rather than in education. Even though Hungary seems to be engulfed in political darkness, the film shows light shining through the dark and that despite the persecution those battling the authoritarian regime aren’t about to give up.
