Limits of Europe
7 years ago, journalist Saša Uhlová described poor working conditions in the Czech Republic. In a follow-up to this project, she reports on modern forms of exploitation in Western Europe.
Instead of fulfilling his dream of being a retired statesman, reading and going to the theatre, Václav Havel remained an active politician, travelling across continents to spread the values of democracy. The film is a multi-layered story of the final years of a great man who never lost his insight or sense of humour. Towards the end of his life, Havel reflects not only on his own legacy but also on the general values of humanity and democracy in the 21st century. As he himself admits at the end, the role of ex-president is one of the most demanding jobs he has ever had.
