The Good Teacher

Young literature teacher Julien is idealistic and passionate about his vocation. When a student accuses him of harassment, he must defend his teaching methods, job, and reputation.

The atmosphere in a literature class at a French school grows unbearably thick as pressure from students and parents to resolve a burning scandal spirals out of control. As Julien tries to prove his innocence, he puts everything he cares about at risk.

Based on a true story, the film shows how easily good intentions can become a source of misunderstanding, and how quickly one false accusation can escalate to the brink of disaster.

With Orthodox Jewish roots, Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie continues his family legacy as a rabbi, but his queer identity also matters to him. After coming out in the 1990s, he left Israel, moved to New York, and focused on reforming Judaism. He has organised art happenings to support women and the LGBT+ community and has found fame as a drag queen.

The Quiet Son

Pierre, a widower in his 50s, works nights to support his two barely adult sons. Younger Louis is problem-free, a good student heading to the Sorbonne. Older Fus used to be a good companion, but something has changed. He withdraws into himself and slowly replaces his family with radical friends, as if he’s forgotten the former common interests and values to which his father led him.
