Tiina Lokk
Tiina Lokk is the founder and director of PÖFF. After a short period of being the editor-in-chief of two local film and photography journals, she co-founded a film distribution company Filmimax in 1993 that brought mainly European and independent films to the Baltic market (until 2001).
She has been a professor of cinematography at the Baltic Film and Media School for more than 20 years. She was one of the founders of the Baltic Film and Media School and part of the team that developed the curricula of the School.
In 1997 Tiina founded Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and has remained the festival director and artistic director up to the present day.
Tiina Lokk has a master’s degree in film theory and criticism from 1981 (VGIK, Moscow Gum Laude) and has worked for a decade in the Estonian film studio Tallinnfilm as a scriptwriter, story editor and also as a member of its art council.
