On Friday, April 12, we will screen the great Norwegian film Pingpong Family (directed by Åsmund Hasli) in the morning for high schools and in the evening from 7:00 p.m. for the public. And what is it even about?
A group of people of various origins meet regularly in a square called Schous plass in Oslo to play table tennis. Weather permitting, the popular ping pong tables are always busy. The diverse community functions as a family that experiences everyday life and important life milestones together. However, because some of the group have liberal views on alcohol and drug use, the city threatens to remove the tables. The film about togetherness raises the question of whether public spaces are open to all equally without distinction.
